SET SOP

This year's SETs will test our ability to follow instructions on how we in Iowa (and of course those in surrounding states) respond at our local level as well as how our County Emergency Coordinator relays pertinent data to the State ARES people.

This SET must not include fake or made up senarios.

If you witness an emergency, do not transmit that information over the radio.

Others with less than honest intentions can listen to these transmissions and that information could induce them to conduct malicious activity. Any serious incident details should be communicated by other means than the open airwaves.

ARES operators may only report such events through tactical names and locations created by the county EMA or the ARES Emergency Coordinator of your County. We will not be utilizing tactical names today.

Net control will announce simulated events and their reporting requirements.

You may also report that all is well at your QTH or a known location.

The exercise has concluded. Our thanks to all who participated!
