With Winter Field Day January 24th - 25th, fast approaching, it's time to practice earning the Objective Multiplier for sending and receiving at least one Winlink email as allowed by the Winter Field Day Exercise Rules.
Start a new message and select Standard Templates > GENERAL Forms > Incident Status Report.
Click Setup and enter "Iowa Winlink Weekend", the callsign used for Field Day, followed by " Winter Field Day 2026 status".
1. Incident Name: Winter Field Day 2026
3. Incident Date/Time: 2026-01-26 13:03 or any time you feel you would prepare the report.
4. Leave as Initial.
5. Check only Pre-Planned Event
6. Enter conditions appropriate to the time of your report, start a new line, enter your:
call sign, first name, city or town, county, state, mode (Winlink HF, VARA FM, VHF packet, etc.)
14., 15., and 16., enter fictitious (except date) information.

Save a copy for later if you wish.
Review your message, then click Submit and set "Subject:" to "Iowa Winlink Weekend".

In the message composition window, make sure "Send As:" is set to Winlink Message.
Check "Request message receipt" if you wish a confirmation message.
Set "To:" to WB0GAG. Add any others you would like to receive the message.
